Update:
>Morning.
>You were actually woken up by some of the other girls' alarms going off.
>You reach for your own phone to see what time it was.
>6 AM.
>You groan and turn in your bed while you hear much of the others start to get up.
>After a few more minutes of laying about, you finally make it out of bed.
>There were several of the recruits who were already dressed and set up a table near the kitchen.
>Some of the actual students were in the kitchen area and were preparing some food for breakfast.
>You slowly make your way to your locker to get your workout clothes and change.
>There really wasn't much in the way of privacy but you did learn that the two doors on the back wall behind the ring was the bathroom.
>You walk in and there were four stalls for toilets as well as four shower stalls as well.
>At the far end of the bathroom were two jacuzzi style tubs next to each other.
>You enter one stall and change into a pair of black yoga pants and a white T shirt.
>You then make your way to the kitchen area with the rest of the girls and see there was a pot of oatmeal for everyone so you help yourself.

>She breathes in a hoarse tone.
>Waiting for you to climb up on her shoulders.

>"Come on, get a move on!"
>Until you were shouted at by Morning Star.
>You slowly and shakily lower yourself and make yourself as comfortable as you can be on her shoulders.
>Wallflower tries to lift you.
>Even from where you were at you could feel Wallflower's legs shake.
>At last, she was able to stand up with you on her.
>And she slowly starts making her way up the stairs.
>It felt like it took her forever to get up the first flight.
>She was beginning to grunt with each step she made.
>Until she collapsed midway through the third flight sending you crashing into the metal railing.
>Your face smashing right into the metal.
>Note to self, make sure you were facing the wall next time.
>You both lay there on the stairs still trying to catch each others breaths.
"M-maybe, you should stop."

>Poor girl had a tough time just getting you on her shoulders.

>If you could feel right now you would be freaking out.
>But the physical exhaustion you have there isn't much energy there to make a deal about it.
>On your way down you look at some of the other recruits who were doing this.
>Many of the girls you've seen now have various bruises on their faces.
>Some even have bloody noses much like yourself.
>Once down on the ground floor, Wallflower gets on all fours and she begins to wheelbarrow up the stairs.

>You try and ask her but she doesn't respond and just makes her way down the stairs.
>Four more sets.
>And four more excruciating trips for each of you.
>At long last, you two completed your sets.
>You were dreading what was going to come next.
>"Looks like it's time for the mid day break."
>Morning Star gets off her seat and starts to head out the building.
>"Get a drink of water, have a small bite to eat if you're brave. Break for twenty minutes and meet us back in the gym."

>Overall, including yourself there were eight.
>Damn, the hopefuls were almost halved only halfway through the first day.
>Some other recruits must have quit during the wheelbarrow exercise.
>Finally, the break was over and Limestone was in the ring.
>"Alright ladies, break is over!"
>You and a lot of the other recruits are slow to get back to their feet and face Limestone.
>She looks at everyone with crossed arms and another worrying smile on her face.
>"What say we get your bodies warmed back up with another one hundred Hindu squats?"
>A collective groan from everyone once again.

>After the sit ups Limestone exits the ring and does a few stretches.

>There were some protests again but nothing else.
>You do the two laps around the farmland and slowly walk back up the road to the school.

If you want more people, you'd have to get more people interested in and aware of the thread. The weekly rewatch stream would be a good place to start advertising thread content, but that would need to be in video format, and a lot of people there really don't like human forms so it should be pony Sunset. If anything gets created in this thread that makes sense to put in video form (compilation of pics, thread simulators, voiceovers or audio skits, songs, PMVs), you can post them in the rewatch threads and add them to the queue.
If you host a good panel at any of the cons and get people to talk about it in the con thread, that would be another way to get more people, though that would take a lot more work.
You could do the same with any other thread that's open to Sunset content. If you can Sunset hypno files, you can post them in the hypno thread. If you have Sunset draw requests for greentext scenes, you can post them in the draw thread and link the relevant greentext post so the artist knows what to draw.

Sunset will always be my waifu, and my enthusiasm for her will not die. I just don't get much out of this thread, so I spend a lot of time on other threads. I like contributing in technical ways rather than creative ways, and other threads are way better for that. My technical contributions aren't specific to Sunset, so I end up not posting about her much.
For a few weeks, there were a few turboautists that would spazz out and derail a thread whenever someone posted EQG or G5 in a predominantly-FiM thread. That probably got a lot of people to post less Sunset. I think people have since realized that those posts can be reported.

The people hosting the big stuff tend to be more reasonable oldfags. You don't have to put much effort into a con panel until you get the go-ahead after sending a proposal. Just make sure the proposal doesn't suck.
If people are derailing a thread with EqG hate, you can point out that there's nothing in the OP against EqG, and report them if they continue. The mods seem pretty reasonable about removing bait and banning trolls.
If the anni was anything to go by, there are a lot more than 5 people on this board that waifu Sunset. If you really want more people in this thread, the people are there, and they participate in board activities.

There have been a lot of suggestions but generally just saying "more people" isn't really something viable. We really have to give people a reason to come into the thread and stay.
Right now it seems like the thread is mostly just sparse interaction between posting random pictures. Some more connected discussion would probably help as a lot of posts don't get replies at all and that's probably discouraging people from continuing to interact. Like how many writefags are gonna stay and post stories when they get no replies? Or if they get one reply and one shitpost in response. It's probably gonna die out pretty quick.

Another thing we could do is have thread prompts to discuss, or maybe just a general topic instead of the exact same OP every single time. There's nothing all that exciting going on with the threads because everyone knows what to expect and there's not really a reason to come in to see the same thing every time.

I think EQG in general has definitely had its day in the sun and considering how long it's been since the last official content has aired the fandom around it has largely moved on to other things. I don't know about the other threads, maybe the dazzling thread is doing better, but this one does seem similarly disconnected.
That general vibe that everyone is off in their own space. People hardly reply to each other, big discussions don't seem to happen, and the people that put in effort to make larger posts that people do reply to don't seem to come around that often anymore. Barring some drastic action to get more new people to come in, the best thing we could probably do is actually stick together and actually post here and have real discussions in the thread where it isn't just one or two people replying once and forgetting it. Otherwise the thread just devolves into an image dump with random, ignored posts in between.

Maybe it'd be best to start off by remembering why we're here in the first place. What makes you guys love Sunset so much over other characters?

Sunset for me felt like the realest character MLP had produced up to her introduction. Of all the ponies, she felt (ironically) the most human, the most relatable and most likely one to actually be able to meet IRL. She has a gorgeous voice and I absolutely love seeing her growth from a school bully into a heroine, someone who was forced to realize they were going nowhere and changed themselves for the better, it really strikes home in RR for me when you finally see her perseverance pay off and seeing one who had once been their enemy embrace her as a friend who wanted to improve. It's actually a really cute concept that I just liked as a picture initially, but thinking on it it would make for a pretty good episode of Sunset trying to change her image. I think it'd make sense of a story that takes place either before or a little after Rainbow Rocks where people are still trepidation of Sunset for her past as a bully, and perhaps to try and convince the student body of her new outlook they think to change up her image to softer / more flowery clothes. Which leads to a crisis of whether Sunset feels she's being disingenuous to herself as well as others and coming up with a compromise like the new jacket to match with the sundress.
Dealing more into the sort of lengths Sunset went to help improve her image would be an interesting premise.

Sunset and Spitfire would make a pretty great team. Maybe they could be tasked with taking charge of something together.

Finally, an update for Shooting Sunset. I should have mentioned last time about the name change, but there is a reason for that and this update will plant the seeds for it.

>Monday Morning.
>The start of week 2.
>The pre-morning routine was about the same.

>Lightly limber up and wait for the food to digest so it won't come out later during workouts.

>"Again, congratulations on making it up to now!" She once again claps for you all. "Now that we think your cardio is at an acceptable level, we're going to kick up the routine and start some ring drills later in the day."

>But the eagle eye of Morning Star seemed to have caught you and she points to you.
>"I'm glad to see you think this is funny! So thank you for being our very first volunteer!"

>"Shut up and get in this ring now!"
>She commands before you could make any other sound.
>You audibly gulp and slowly crawl your way into the ring.
>Now you are standing before both Morning Star and Limestone Pie.

>"It's pretty simple. All you have to do is fall back and kick your legs in the air as if someone pulled the rug from underneath you. As you fall you throw your hands out to the sides, palms down so your hands slap the canvas and tuck your chin in as you hit the floor."

>You hesitate for a moment before you lightly bend your knees and fall backwards on your back.

>You feel the same shock going through your body as the previous one you took.

>She says.
>You lightly moan as you try to get back on your feet.
"Was that right?"
>You weren't sure but it felt like you did it wrong.

>You take a deep breath and fall down again.
>The same shock goes through your body but it's getting a little more painful.
>"Okay, get up and do it again. Only nine hundred and ninety eight more to go."

>You raise your voice to her.
>"You heard me." She calmly responds back. "Lesson number two, to learn to wrestle is to learn to fall. You must learn to fall properly. Like I said before, falling and taking a bump is the first and most basic thing you must master, and the shock you feel is always going to feel the same every time you fall so you are going to need to build up a tolerance for it. A thousand bumps a day for a few weeks should take care of that."
>You look over to Limestone who looks nonchalant and then over to the other girls who all have this unsure look on their faces.

>Limestone now eggs you on.
>You turn to look at her and she has this glare on her face.

>Limestone nods and points to Indigo Zap.
>"Get in there."
>Indigo Zap looks a little worried but slaps herself and gets in the ring.
>Limestone then looks to you and Wallflower.
>"Follow me."
>You two do as you are told.
>She leads you to the kitchen area and in a corner of the kitchen there was a large freezer like machine.
>When you open it there was a large chest full of ice.
>Limestone then grabs a bucket that was just sitting to the side of the machine and scoops it full of ice and then heads towards the bathroom.
>You follow her and she leads you to the jacuzzi tubs in the back of the bathroom.
>"You two can use these tubs and fill them with cold water and then fill them with ice from the ice machine to help with the sores from the bumps."
>She drops the bucket to your feet and then turns to faucet for one of the tubs to fill with water.
>"You two can figure out who to go first and do it yourselves."
>She then leaves you and Wallflower to figure it out.
>You two look at each other for a moment and Wallflower steps back.

>You cover your breasts with one hand and first you slowly dip your right foot in the ice cold water.
>The cold sends shivers up your leg and all over your body.
>You are going to need to power through this and you take a deep breath and just plunge yourself into the deep tub.

>You gasp at the feel of the ice water on your sore body.
>It's like you were being pricked with millions of tiny pins and needles and all your joints lock up.
>The tub was deep enough that it covered all the way up to your neck.

>Then the pain just... stopped.
>Like the workouts earlier, everything went numb.
>And the pain was gone.
>And it started to feel relaxing.

>A long sigh of relief escapes your lips as you start to feel your joints and muscles relax.
>You shake slightly once or twice.
>But this was a nice enough feeling.
>Wallflower fills her tub with ice and takes off her clothes except for her underwear as well.

>You watch as she does the same routine as you and first sticks her foot in and gasps.

>Since you were the first volunteer last time when it came to taking bumps, you were automatically summoned as the first to run the ropes.
>However, they also had Indigo Zap enter the ring with you as well.
>You two were going to have practice runs and then would have to criss-cross each other.
>First up is you.
>You start on one end of the ring and you start your way across.
>You lightly jog across the ring and pivot your body too late and roll onto the ropes.
>It was then you felt something sharp dig deep into your skin.

>Now that you have a rhythm down, it was easier to run the ropes.
>But each time your planked on the top rope, you could still feel the sharp hard cables almost tear at your skin.
>"Next!"
>You stop and look at Morning Star.
>"Now for you."
>She points her cane to Indigo Zap.
>Indigo nods and starts to run.

>She struggles to yell back and places her leg behind Morning Star and pushes her back to take her down.

>"I'm sure some of you have already guessed by now that this camp is mainly used to break any and all who want to make a career into Pro Wrestling and it takes someone special to make it to this point."

I was really looking forward for this story to update. Training Camp was super tough but I like how it builded up every character. Can't wait to see this trio work together and eventually fight it up against Shale's teams.
By the way, good thing Sunset isn't aiming to go beyond being a shooter. Otherwise the title for this story would give readers a wrong idea.

I really love the idea, always felt like the reason Sunset was a rebellious, fiery child was that Celestia mostly neglected her, and Sunset, im gonna go with the orphan headcanon, kinda looked at her as her mom, as a result when Cadance came in to the picture it got a bit messy, I like to think Twilight is what broke the camel's back.

Agreed, Even though I love sunset, if the show actually did a good job making him an actual character it would've been fine, if it wasnt some brad character whos just there to serve as the token highschool bf. Sunset had better chemistry with both of the twilights than him.

Brett is a Brad character but very well written you can see his problems and conflicts he is very endearing. I'm sure the show will eventually make the ship canon(ReaganXBrett) and that's fine because they made sure to add substance to the character.
A Brad character can be good if the show gives him good conflicts that's what Flash needs.
